Sugar Loaf Barn Wedding - Hannah & Gareth
Gorgeous September Wedding at Sugar Loaf Barn
A mixture of old and new greeted me with Hannah & Gareth’s wedding back in September. A beautiful new South Wales wedding venue that I’d not had the pleasure of working at before, and having known Hannah’s family for a good many years there was the old, in some faces whom I hadn’t seen in a long time.
Sugar Loaf Barn, located up in the hills just outside of Abergavenny, was the venue for the day. A fully operational farm by winter, stunning licensed wedding venue by summer. Marcus and the others really have a little gem here!
When you decide to get married at Sugar Loaf Barn you get to make use of the beautiful converted barn house for the weekend and this is where the bridal preparation took place. Queue a little madness, plenty of children and cousins running around and a rather nasty sickness bug that hit camp a few days before, which made for some ‘interesting’ and certainly unique moments during the day that I can say I haven’t seen at a wedding before!!
NATURAL SUGAR LOAF BARN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
The ceremony took place in the main barn complete with a traditional male voice choir and some stunning views out over the Welsh countryside, we really are so lucky to live where we do. It’s hard to believe that such a great space gets transformed from a fully operational farm shed to a wonderful wedding venue each spring when lambing has finished.
I’m really proud of the photographs I produced from Hannah & Gareth’s big day. The time I have alone with a couple for some more intimate photos can sometimes be limited, but Hannah & Gareth were more than happy to oblige and this part of their day I’m especially happy with.
When it comes to narrowing down photos to include on a blog post, I always find it a challenge but this one was particularly more so. Oh, and the photo of the young boy who looks like he’s ‘flipping the bird’ at me - purely coincidental (I think!). Enjoy these images from their day.
SUGAR LOAF BARN - AN AMAZING WEDDING VENUE
Quite simply, Sugar Loaf Barn is one of my new favourite places to photograph a wedding. Perfectly located just outside Abergavenny in the Brecon Beacons National Park, it offers everything those engaged to be married are looking for. With its romantic, shabby chic theme you’ll be spoilt should you choose to celebrate your marriage at this beautiful South Wales wedding venue.
The main medieval barn is one of the best features at Sugar Loaf Barn. Restored and transformed to the highest quality, with luxury bespoke finishing touches all around, there’s room for 8 wedding guests. It’s also the perfect space from which to start your wedding morning bridal preparations whilst you have your hair and make-up done, sip on some champagne and get into your wedding dress. Further accommodation for your guests to make use of is available in safari tents and gorgeous Shepherds huts, again with each offering scenic views out across the valley.
Combine all this with the amazing backdrop of the Welsh countryside looking out across the Usk Valley and what more could a professional wedding photographer ask for? There are certainly far worse places to compose and take great looking frames?
