Elan Valley Wedding | Sophie & Ben
The September Elan Valley wedding of Sophie & Ben took place at what has to be one of the most idyllic churches in Wales. Set in the beautiful Elan Valley estate in Mid Wales, Nantgwyllt Church has got to be up there with the best, most scenic churches I’ve visited. Although the weather wasn’t the best, it was still an amazing day to be a part of.
ELAN VALLEY WEDDING
The day itself took place in late September with the morning preparations happening without a hitch. Sophie was much more relaxed than I think even she thought she would be. Arriving with her dad and bridesmaids at church in an old land drover, the rain just about held off.
Following the wedding ceremony we dodged the rain that had started to gently fall and headed to the beautiful Glyngynwydd Wedding Barns for the reception. As well as my first Elan Valley wedding it was also my first time photographing a wedding at Glyngynwydd Wedding Barn and I was looking forward to the reception and party. It’s always nice to photograph somewhere different and this was no exception. (I also cannot wait to go back).
GLYNYGYNWYDD WEDDING BARN
Situated just south of Llanidloes, Glynwydd Wedding Barn is a fairly new venue. But what a venue. Also set in gorgeous countryside, which I know we have in abundance here in mid Wales, it was a pleasure to work at.
Once the guests had been greeted and a few welcome drinks drunk, we took time a little time out from the wedding and explored the grounds at Glyngynwydd just the four of us. I say four, Polly the dog was never far from our sides! Unfortunately the rain that had been threatening all day started to get heavier so we retreated back to the barn in readiness for the speeches and party that were yet to come.
